Discover How To
Teach Writing To All Your Children
At the Same Time
...Regardless of Their Ages!

August 9, 2007
Dear Fellow Writing Teacher, Homeschool Mom or Parent,
I know how hard it is to juggle your
family, teach your children and keep your home. It can be
difficult, at best, when you have many kids.
And then, you're worried what type of
education your children are really getting.
Will your children be able to write
well when they leave your home?
Will your children be able to communicate to their co-workers, friends
or fellow church member?
Daniel Weber has teamed with Andrew
Pudewa, of Institute for Excellence in Writing, to publish the perfect
solution for writing teachers and homeschool moms who teach students
of different ages.
Daniel has done all the work for you.
You can
save time, energy and money
on your writing lessons by using Character-Based Writing Lessons.
You get the source texts, writing topics
and numbered assignments for each writing lesson. What could be
easier than opening to the next lesson and getting started...with
NO PREP!

His Biggest Fan!
For the first time in our homeschool
experience, we are actually seeing growth and progress in my
son’s writing! The biggest blessing, however, comes from
seeing him growing in confidence in a stress-free environment.
When my "hands are off content," my suggestions aren't
perceived as an attack on his personality. When I am only
adding on the "rules of the game" (which is what I call the
dress ups, etc.) and adjusting for grammar, I am freed up to
be his biggest cheerleader instead of his biggest critic! He
seems to like the idea that he isn't expected to come up with
it all on his own, and he is receptive to our "modeling." We
have already seen changes in his choices of words, editing
skills, and creative thought. Thanks again!

Character-Based Writing Lessons provides
24 lessons that follow the 9 units found in Teaching Writing:
Structure & Style. Besides using the 9 writing structures,
Character-Based Writing Lessons covers stylistic techniques to improve
your children's writings.
Each lessons begins with the source
text/writing topic. Next, a numbered list of activities are
given for the student to follow. Notes for the outline and
sample stylistic exercises are included next. Finally, a
checklist is given for Level A (beginner), Level B (intermediate), and
Level C (advanced).
Level A students progress thorough the
lessons focusing on the fundamentals of style. Level B students
learn the fundamentals and build upon these skills with more detail.
Level C students should already be familiar with (or learn quickly)
the basics of the skills taught, have a firm grasp of grammar, and be
able to employ the advanced techniques taught in the book.
Why use Character-Based Writing Lessons?
I've already given you several reasons, save yourself a lot of hassle
planning your own lessons, use with all levels of writing abilities
and feel assured your students will learn to write well.
Another reason to use Character-Based
Writing Lessons is they aren't rigid!
Flexibility is the name of the game
with this writing guide so it is ideal to teach mixed age groups!
